All You Fascists Are Bound to Lose

We are battling fear and intimidation with hope and courage

Woody Guthrie had a great song called "All You Fascists Are Bound to Lose." Take a listen.

In it, he sings about the reason the fascists are bound to lose: that people are getting organized.

Donald Trump and Stephen Miller believe that if you kill and threaten enough people, folks will be too scared to do anything to organize against them. That is what Hitler believed. It is what the KKK believes, and the Southern slave owners before them. It is what Putin and his fellow tyrants around the world believe.

But what they don’t understand is that their oppression only inspires people to be more courageous and more determined.

The days ahead will require courage. It will be, to paraphrase Frederick Douglass, both a moral and physical struggle. But if we, as my dear friend the legendary Heather Booth says, keep organizing with love at the center, we will beat these fascists. Hope and courage and solidarity will always ultimately prevail, even over violence and intimidation.

You fascists are bound to lose.

The real-life examples you included made all the difference. Abstract explanations only go so far, but seeing how the principles apply in actual situations helped me understand the nuances. I’ll be trying out your suggestions this week. Thanks for sharing your knowledge in such a usable way.

Reading the post about how harmful ideologies are challenged and rejected really stood out because it talks about standing against harmful ideas and choosing unity. I remember a class discussion on respect where opinions were mixed and I had to think carefully. I also used the CIPD Assignment Service when I was struggling with concepts and needed simple guidance. It shows that understanding people and staying respectful helps build stronger and fairer communities.
